MTB and the SDGs

MTB supports the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, and focuses in particular on the following development goals:

4 - Quality Education

Education enables us to participate in a knowledge-intensive society.

8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth

Economic growth is only sustainable if capital, raw materials and employees are treated with dignity and if income and profits are shared fairly between citizens and companies.

10 – Reduced Inequalities

Everyone deserves equal opportunities.

17 – Partnerships for the Goals

We are stronger together.

On the various pages, you can read how we contribute to these goals together with a diverse coalition of partners striving for sustainability. MTB is affiliated with the national SDG Community of SDG Nederland and is a member of SDG House Maastricht. Together, we are working for a better world!

Birth of the project

This project was born in the spring of 2022. After an introduction to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), MTB Maastricht aspired to focus on these sustainable goals even more concretely. MTB therefore participated in the 'SDG Challenge', in which student teams and organizations with a mission are brought together to commit themselves to the SDGs. Through a pressure cooker, an international group of six Maastricht University students developed a business plan for social inclusion and sustainability. This plan received an honorable mention from a professional jury during the national finals. Since then, MTB has started working with these ideas and the website and accompanying QR code have been officially launched in June 2023.

This website is made possible by a co-financing by Mplooi Foundation.
